The gift of late pregnancy - A Christmas miracle

Christmas has always been magical, but the past few years have made it a season of profound meaning for me.

A time when miracles, hopes, and dreams come to life. In Christmas 2022, something extraordinary happened, though I didn’t know it yet. While we celebrated with laughter and lights, a tiny seed of life had already taken root inside me. Right after Christmas, we set off for a holiday, blissfully unaware that our family of three was quietly becoming four. Looking back, it feels like the greatest Christmas miracle was happening, unseen and unspoken, as the season unfolded around us. 

Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t found under the tree but in the prayers, we whisper and the dreams we quietly hold in our hearts.

My older daughter, like any child has always been excited for the gifts under the tree. She would eagerly shake each box, her face lighting up with joy. But in 2023 a few weeks before Christmas, she received the greatest gift of all. The baby sister she had always wished for. For the last few years, we had whispered Christmas prayers, made countless 11:11 wishes together, and held onto the hope that our family would grow. Last Christmas, all those wishes came true, she finally celebrated her sister's first Christmas. Aisha was just a few weeks old then.

This year, as I watch my baby girl toddling around the tree while her sister plays with her, my heart overflows with gratitude. Christmas isn’t just about the decorations or the presents anymore. it’s about the miracles that happen when we least expect them. It’s about the way love grows and transforms, turning dreams into reality in the most magical ways. The past few Christmases have shown me that this season holds a kind of magic that touches both the heart and the soul. From the quiet hopes we held to the joy of becoming four, Christmas will always be the time of year that reminds me of life’s greatest blessings ✨
